SCHOLARFORGE: Six-Day Faculty Development Programme

The Research Promotion Council and IQAC of EMEA College of Arts and Science, Kondotty, successfully organised SCHOLARFORGE, a six-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Research Article Writing and Funded Research Projects, from 12 to 17 January 2026.

The programme aimed at enhancing research competence among faculty members by providing practical insights into research proposal writing, funding opportunities, scholarly writing, and academic publishing.

The FDP commenced on January 12 with a session by Prof. (Dr.) C. D. Sebastian, Professor, Department of Zoology, University of Calicut, who delivered an enlightening talk on “Research Proposals in Science: The Art of Writing and Funding Opportunities.”
On January 13, Prof. (Dr.) Saidalavi C., Principal, Malabar College of Advanced Studies, Vengara, led a session on “From Aspiration to Award: Understanding Fellowships and Funding.”

The third day featured Rafeeque Mavoor, Founder of Sciart Academy and Labcanvas, and IISER Thiruvananthapuram alumnus, who conducted an engaging session on “Visual Communication in Research: From Data to Impact.”
On January 15, Prof. (Dr.) Biju T., Professor and Head, Department of Commerce, University of Kerala, addressed participants on “Understanding the Research Process and Scholarly Writing in Social Sciences.”

The final two days, January 16 and 17, were handled by Jobin Jose, Librarian and Research & Publication Facilitation Officer, Marian College, Kuttikkanam (Autonomous). His sessions focused on “Bibliometric Analysis and Academic Publishing,” offering hands-on exposure to research metrics and publication strategies.

The programme witnessed active participation from faculty members of various disciplines and proved to be highly beneficial in strengthening research skills, promoting quality publications, and encouraging funded research initiatives. The organisers expressed confidence that SCHOLARFORGE would significantly contribute to fostering a vibrant research culture at EMEA College.
