Literary Club
In-Charge
Literary Club is an initiative of the PG Department of English of the college.
The club aims at enhancing the creative abilities of the students and providing them with necessary inputs and facilities. Literary Club organizes various pro-grams such as Invited Lectures, Reading Sessions, Writing Workshops and Litvan-za - Annual Literary and Cultural Fest. The club has founded Ambedkar Study Circle - a platform for discussing and debating contemporary socio-political issues.Activities
OPEN DISCUSSION ON DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
The PG Department of English organised an open discussion on the topic ‘Domestic violence’ on 27th June 2021. This interactive programme was conducted using the Google meet platform and completed in 2 hours (8PM to 10 PM). The objective of this programme was to raise awareness on the social problem of domestic violence and suggest solution-based interventions to address it.
LITERARY, CULTURAL AND FILM FEST
PG Department of English organized the fourth installment of Litvanza, the Literary, Cultural and Film Festival on 21 & 22 February, 2019 at Audio Visual Theatre in EMEA College. (1)The program was inaugurated by Mrs. Ajithri Babu, a well known Malayalam writer , who talked about ‘Women and Literature’. In the session , she talked about the importance of reading and discussed famous works like A God of Small Things(Arundhathi Roy), Vellapokathil(Thakazhi Shivashankara Pillai) etc. She showed her views on the female recent issues like ‘Vanitha Mathil’ and the drama Kithab(Rafeeq).
LITERARY CLUB TOUR 2016
The Literary Club of EMEA College conducted a tour on 10 December 2016. The destinations were Hyderabad and Bangalore. Mrs. Abidha KP[ Assistant Professor], Mr, Abdul Jaleel[Assistant Professor], Mr. Afsal [Assistant Professor] were the escorting teachers.
